Just a doodle in my notebook during class last night...

Ill Friday: A Boy and A Cat in a Boat

i re-drew the sketch from last week with pen and ink and colored it with colored pencil.

E is for Elephant

pencil, pen and india ink
wonil's elephant (http://secrettoilet.blogspot.com/) inspired me.
I've always loved elephants also. I think they are adorable though they are so huge, and seem to have such gentle souls. One great story, but if you're like me it will make you cry alot, is Modoc: The True Story of the Greatest Elephant That Ever Lived by Ralph Helfer.

Big Blue Eyes

Revision of Classroom

this is a revision of the classroom illustration. i moved things around a little bit, put a cloth over her apples, took out one child and the desks to make it less cluttered, and made the apples smaller. i think it works better.

Revision of lost ball illustration

Here is a revision of that picture. I changed the orientation, as my book layout is vertical. After a critique with my teacher, i've moved Zuzu so that she is not cropping the boy's leg right at the bottom. I also fixed the fence and the back of her hair which was bugging me and gave the boy at the back some hair. I picked up some great new colored pencil colors too!

drawings for class - picture book

These are preliminary drawings for a story book idea i'm working on for an illustration class at SVA. Comments or constructive criticism are welcomed! This is one version of the main character, a little girl named Zuzu.
